What Is the Cost of a Nursery Spot at KidsCare?

Quel est le prix de nos crèches privées par enfant et par mois en 2025 ?

Choosing the right childcare solution is a significant decision for any family, both emotionally and financially. That’s why it’s important to understand the cost of a nursery spot.
At KidsCare, we believe in transparency and clarity when it comes to pricing, so parents can make informed choices with confidence and peace of mind.
Several key factors influence the overall cost of a nursery spot, such as your child’s age, the number of care hours per week, and any government support, such as the Chèque-Service Accueil (CSA). These variables can help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, especially when combined with KidsCare’s flexible scheduling options.

How Much Does a Nursery Spot Cost per Child per Month in 2025

The price for a place in one of our nurseries in Luxembourg takes into account several elements and varies for each family. Depending on your circumstances and location within the country, you can expect an average 2025 base rate of between €7 and €9 per hour.
Parents of foster children can benefit from reduced rates thanks to a contribution from the State. Indeed, the State contributes money to childcare costs thanks to the welcome service check, also known as Chèque-Service Accueil or CSA.
In all KidsCare nurseries, babies under 1 year old benefit from a special rate of €6/hour.
Eligible families can receive a CSA of up to €6 per hour per child, making childcare more affordable. Here are a few examples:

  • Family A requires 40 hours of reception per week for their 3-year-old child, with potential costs ranging from €280 to €360. They receive €6 per hour from CSA, as determined by their wage. They’ll receive an allowance of €240 per week, reducing their out-of-pocket costs to €40 to €120.
  • Family B enrols their 4-year-old child in a creche that charges €8 per hour, and they require 20 hours of reception. Their out-of-pocket costs are €160, but they’ll only pay €40 after getting funded by CSA.

What Affects the Cost of a Nursery Spot?

The price of a seat in a private nursery is not the same depending on your family and professional situation. The price is calculated on a case-by-case basis to take into account your life and your financial reality as accurately as possible.
The elements that we take into account for the calculation are the following:

  • The income of the household in which the child lives. The household may be married, in a civil partnership, or cohabiting.
  • The number of dependent children in the household who are eligible for family allowances.
  • The child's rank in the family.
  • The type of childcare structure chosen by the parents: collective childcare or parental assistant.
  • The number of hours of reception in the structure.
  • Benefits related to the child's age: 20 hours of free care for 1-4 year olds (see below).
  • At all KidsCare nurseries, babies under 1 year old benefit from a special rate of €6/hour.

Government Financial Support and Subsidies

The State contributes to the parents' childcare costs through the reception-service check (Chèque-Service Accueil or CSA). This check takes into account the family and financial conditions listed above.
The CSA allows parents to benefit from reduced costs in our crèches.
The State contributes financially within the following limits:

  • A ceiling of 60 hours of reception per week
  • A maximum of €6/hour and per child for care in a collective structure
  • A maximum of €3.75/hour and per child for care by a parental assistant from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • A maximum of €4.25/hour and per child for care by a parental assistant at night (7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.), weekends, and public holidays.
  • A number of 5 meals per week and €6.50 per meal
The calculation of the remaining dependents of the parents is based on the income taken into account by the taxes. The calculation does not take into account family allowances, childbirth allowance, back-to-school allowance, financial aid and voluntary aid from social works.
A scale of the rate of effort required of parents has been established and can be viewed online.
We have a secure space for parents of newly enrolled children in our network of nurseries to view their monthly bill and the amount of CSA paid.

20 Hours of Free Nursery Access for Children Aged 1 to 4

The Luxembourg State wishes to give every child the same chance of access to the plurilingual education program regardless of the parents' financial capacities. This multilingual education program aims to familiarise the smallest possible children with Luxembourgish and French. The earlier a language is learned, the easier it is to acquire. It’s a great way of increasing a child’s future opportunities.
For this, all children aged 1 to 4 who are welcomed into a collective reception structure providing CSA benefits receive 20 hours of free reception over a calendar year.
The children concerned must not yet be in school.
This measure is not applied for reception by parental assistants or a childminder.
The CSA therefore applies beyond these 20 free hours.
In all KidsCare nurseries, babies under 1 year old benefit from a special rate of €6/hour.
Children who attend school part-time but who are also enrolled in a crèche are entitled to 10 hours of free reception.
Children enrolled in our crèches and reception systems can therefore benefit from all these favourable measures. The calculation of the price per day and per child is made on a case-by-case basis.
